COVID-19 UPDATE NOVEMBER 2020
DINING & CARRY-OUTS ARE CLOSED FOR THE SEASON
OVERNIGHT ROOMS REMAIN OPEN

For well over 70 years, you have been friends, and you have been family. Our hearts continue to go out to you and your loved ones as the world responds to an apparent second wave of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Illinois restaurants are under new restrictions, and, as a result, our dining rooms are closed for the season and carry-out services are discontinued for the season.

Our overnight rooms in our historic inn remain open all year.

Your safety has always been our number one priority. We are hopeful that restaurants will be allowed to return safely to normal operations next spring. When they are, you will be impressed, and we will be humbled to once again have you as our valued guest. Our tentative re-opening date for the season is Spring, 2021, with the exact date to be announced later. Stay safe. We will get through this together.

The Kraus Family

The historic Hotel Nauvoo inn and restaurant, operated for four generations by the Kraus family, houses artfully appointed guest rooms in the style of the approximately 175 year-old building without sparing any modern convenience. This famous building dates back to the Mormon period of Nauvoo history, built in part by J. J. Brendt, a Latter Day Saint, and completed by Adam Swartz, a German immigrant.

Historic Hotel Nauvoo is located in the heart of Nauvoo's attractions. We are only one block from Nauvoo's Temple Square in an ideal location amidst the quaint Nauvoo shops that will allow you to spend time enjoying the simpler things in life. Tour the more than forty recreated historic sites and wander down to the Nauvoo Historical Society Weld House Museum for an overview of area history.

Overnight room guests receive a 25% breakfast discount at our Grandpa John's Cafe (Temporarily closed due to COVID-19 Virus).

For nature lovers and the fitness inclined, make sure to visit the Nauvoo State Park, the Mississippi River, Deer Run Golf Course in Hamilton and see the eagles fishing at the Keokuk Dam. Families will enjoy visits to our many historic churches, carriage rides through Historic Nauvoo and horseback riding for the novice and experienced.

Come back to Hotel Nauvoo for our famous dinner buffet with award winning specialties. The food is bountiful and delightful; the service, impeccable. Each dining room reflects a different era of Nauvoo's rich history. We also have a full menu (pdf) for those who prefer to dine a la carte.
The Hotel Nauvoo Dining Rooms are temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 Virus. See our Dining page for details.
