“RETIREMENT
In the Biblical Old Testament Book of Ecclesiastes, the author writes in Chapter 3, verse 1, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the Heavens”.
Over the past 77+ years, each and every one of you have become friends and “family”. Ours has been, and remains, a human endeavor, comprised of individuals working together for the sake of all. Saying “thank you from the bottom of our hearts” seems insufficient, but it is nonetheless very sincere.
In keeping with longstanding tradition, we recently closed for the season, but “Mother Nature” and “Father Time” have told us that a different kind of season is already upon us, and that we should prepare for retirement and focus on health. More details will be provided soon, but we wanted you to know first that we are not planning to reopen in 2026.
As with everything in life, we don’t know exactly what the future will hold, but we trust that the Almighty will guide all of us along the way.
GIFT CARD REFUNDS:
We have begun the process of fully refunding all gift card balances.
Regardless of how your gift card was purchased, we want you to have any remaining balance. Funding verified remaining balances is not an issue, and we will be diligent about seeing it through. Your patience will be very much appreciated, as the list is fairly long. As with any gift card, please treat the card as cash and protect the information contained on it. Once a refund has been issued, the gift card value will be reset to zero.
To see the remaining balance on your gift card, please:

- Please click on "CHECK BALANCE".
- Please enter the gift card number in the space provided. Please double-check the number, and please be careful not to confuse any letter “O” with any number “0”.
- Please click on “FIND CARD”. The balance history will appear.
- If you experience a problem, PLEASE DON’T PANIC. Please tell us about the problem by TEXTING the details to the phone number below. The number will not receive incoming telephone calls. Again, thank you for your patience.
TO REQUEST A GIFT CARD BALANCE REFUND, simply take a photo of the information on your card and text the photo to 904-568-5656, along with your full name, your callback/textback number, and your mailing address. A check for any remaining balance will be sent to you via U.S. Mail. Please use this number for TEXTING gift card refund requests only. This number will not receive incoming telephone calls.

The way we were:
The historic Hotel Nauvoo inn and restaurant, was operated for four generations by the Kraus family, and housed artfully appointed guest rooms in the style of the circa 1841 building without sparing any modern convenience. This famous building dates back to the Mormon period of Nauvoo history, built in part by J. J. Brendt, a Latter Day Saint, and completed by Adam Swartz, a German immigrant.
Historic Hotel Nauvoo is located in the heart of Nauvoo's attractions. We are only one block from Nauvoo's Temple Square in an ideal location amidst the quaint Nauvoo shops that will allow you to spend time enjoying the simpler things in life. Tour the more than forty recreated historic sites and wander down to the Nauvoo Historical Society Weld House Museum for an overview of area history.
For nature lovers and the fitness inclined, make sure to visit the Nauvoo State Park, the Mississippi River, and see the eagles fishing at the Keokuk Dam. Families will enjoy visits to our historic churches and carriage rides through Historic Nauvoo.
There was the famous dinner buffet with award winning specialties. The food was bountiful and delightful; the service, impeccable. Each dining room reflects a different era of Nauvoo's rich history.
